I have been waiting for this Winter Wedge Wonderland workshop for a long time since I first took Jen's class on "The Wedge Brush Garden" in Spring. That was the very first time I learnt about Wedge brush technique. I did find it difficult to control at the very beginning, but Jen explained everything so well. I get hooked on this brush and watercolor paintings after taking her first class. I learnt a bit about watercolor painting techniques by round brushes before and so has some concepts on the water control and mixing colors. Still, I think this is a difficult medium to control.
However, believe me, once you started to get control of the wedge brush and watercolor, it is really a perfect match with beautiful handwriting and it immediately elevates your calligraphy works.
In the Winter Wedge Wonderland workshop, we covered a lot on various Christmas and winter theme designs and elements, like the floral wreaths, ornaments, mistletoe, holly berries, vintage envelope, coffee mug with candy cane, Lamppost, birch trees, snow covered Christmas trees and even pumpkins! That was just amazing...
Even I practised quite a number of designs in these two weeks, there are still a lot of inspirations from this class that keeps me creating.
With my sincere and grateful heart, I would like to thank Jen for bringing all these wonderful ideas and techniques to us. And of course Kestrel who is a great organizer as always.
Christmas ornament design:

2. Floral Wreath

3. Lamppost - with Helen Keller's quote - "The Light in my Darkness"

4. Birch Trees - I added a little cute snowman besides :)

5. Christmas trees - we are well-prepared for the festive season!!

6. Christmas tree with a subtle look Pumpkin...though I found it really difficult to manipulate the bleeding effect that Jen did in class on my Canson paper .....

And here are some floral designs that I did after the Spring class before:
